The Splintered Sea expansion shakes up Besiege by finally bringing water into play. Forget the days of just tearing things up on dry land—now you’re sailing into a new world. After blasting your way from Ipsilon to Krolmar, you find yourself in the middle of a rough island chain run by a tough bunch called The Offlanders. This new campaign drops you into 15 fresh oceanic levels, where you’ll need to sink Admiral Drasckar’s fast cutters and his massive, heavily guarded galleon. To win, you have to get comfortable both on the waves and below them, dodging sneaky traps and fending off some pretty nasty sea creatures before you can flatten the Admiral’s fortress.
To help you survive, the expansion gives you eight new parts and a “Curved Wooden” tech that opens up all kinds of new builds. Now you get to mess with density and buoyancy using Floats, steer with Rudders and Ship Screws, and catch the wind with Retractable Sails. If you’d rather go on the offensive, the Harpoon Launcher lets you hook enemies and drag them under. Every machine you build actually reacts to the water—its shape and weight decide how it moves, floats, or crashes, so your battles feel wild and real.
When you’re done with the campaign, there’s a huge new sandbox to mess around in. You can chase fishermen, tackle tricky water courses, or rummage through old ruins on the sea floor. The underwater physics and new environments work in Besiege’s Multiplayer and level editor too, so you and your friends can make your own crazy ocean maps. Whether you’re building a quick little submarine or a massive ironclad, The Splintered Sea gives you a whole ocean to turn into your own playground of chaos.
