Kun’tewiktuk: A Mi’kmaw Adventure is a fantasy adventure game packed with legends and folklore straight out of Mi’kmaw culture. It is set in Unama’ki, also known today as Cape Breton Island in Canada.
The story follows two siblings, Wasuek (Flower) and her brother U’n (Fog), who get separated one summer morning and end up on a wild journey through the spirit world to find each other again. Along the way they will encounter mystical beings, gain supernatural powers and explore both the spirit realm and the real world.
The game plays out in third-person, letting you switch between the two characters as the story unfolds. You will have a menu system where you can equip weapons and unlock new abilities as you progress. The game blends action and adventure, with players diving into different quests to earn nature-based powers.
One minute you might be deep in the spirit world and the next, you are back in the natural world, trying to complete your mission. Plus there are mini games that challenge your puzzle-solving, memory and reaction skills. Both Wasuek and U’n have their own strengths.
Wasuek is tough, smart and super protective of her family and community. She’s the type who never backs down once she sets her mind to something. U’n, on the other hand, is adventurous and full of energy—sometimes a little too much, since he tends to wander off without thinking.
As the game progresses, they will face all kinds of challenges, from spirit eating creatures to legendary figures like the Great Chief Kluskap, who will test if they are worthy of his guidance. Enemies in Kun’tewiktuk are straight out of Mi’kmaw mythology, from massive ogres to terrifying ice creatures and giant spirit animals.
